Most training is a waste of money. Our experience is that training rarely focuses on the relevant issues and critical competencies within an organization and almost never is there any follow up. Most training is a series of discrete "events" that are interesting, expensive, and produce large pieces of "credenzaware." Our approach is to create training experiences that are relevant, specific to the organization, and linked to other initiatives within the firm. Relevance also means that training has to move from the theoretical to the real you must be able to take knowledge and apply it in your work. Our LINKS model utilizes tailored training experiences as part of a larger curriculum and provides follow-up through one-to-one and group coaching, in-person, and by telephone. This allows participants to apply their learning on the job, address questions around implementation, and translate individual insight into longer-term strategy.
